Large Surrey Garden
The Brief
This wonderful, large garden in Surrey was unkempt and full of what I call “big green lumps” of plants. North facing and overrun by huge rhododendrons, the client needed to create a lawn area for the kids, a new patio large enough for entertaining, and paths down to the bottom.
The Design
I used the beautiful Victorian architecture as my inspiration and created a classic design in keeping with the traditions of the era and English country gardens. Two long borders run down either side of the lawn, full of roses and perennials. York stone and red brick hard landscaping link to the house, with a Victorian style tunnel of wrought iron, covered in roses leading down to the end. Finialed posts and rope swags frame the view from the patio to the lawn area.
