THE GARDEN CABIN PROJECT

The Brief

The client had a long garden, with a wild, wooded area at the bottom which was rarely used and was hard to maintain. They originally wanted to create an office space, but this later grew to a gym and ‘teenage den/man cave’, to landscape around the cabin and to possibly include a water feature. It needed to improve use of the garden space and functionality, and to tie the garden areas together. The garden is north facing, so the patio by the house lost the sun by mid afternoon. At the bottom, it was gloriously sunny until well into the evening.

The Design

The ideas escalated – as they do! The ultimate design included a large pond with a path over the top of it, new planting areas, compost heaps, a new patio, fish sculpture and a chainsaw tree carving. The before and after results are spectacular, and have changed beyond measure how the garden is used.
